Picking up
from last year, will run in the ROK Masters/Heavy class again in
2010. Moved up from my Haase kart to a Marenallo kart this
year. Hope to improve on skills and overall finish position in my
class this year.
History:
2009
was the year to move from Yamaha to Vortex ROK after the club retired
the Yamah class in favour of developing the ROK classes at various
levels. This class had a good number of racers resulting in a
great class with lots of good racing.
2008 was the first year that I made the time to really put some effort
in developing better racing skills and being more competative.
Participated in the Yamaha masters class.
Joined the club in 2006 and for the first two years concentrated on the
basics of driving and learning about the mechanics of taking care of a
kart and motor.
Some of us have had an interest in the many forms of auto racing, but
never really had the resources to entertain that dream. I'm
here to tell you that you can re-capture that excitement and fulfill
that dream with todays modern racing karts.
These karts are not the heavy, slow and restricted karts you found at
amusement parks and they are not the dune buggy / quasi off road home
built you see in the gravel pits and at some oval tracks. These
are professional level racing karts that have exceptional handling,
high speed and bring the full thrill of auto racing at hobby level
costs.
This hobby is open to a broad spectrum of racers. You have the
younger set who are interested in competitive racing with the potential
to develop into a formal career in that field as well as those are just
interested in a competitive hobby that fulfills some of their earlier
aspirations to be "racers". There is even room for the 30,
40, 50 or 60 something crowd!
Hope to see you on the track.
