SSKC Race 7 & 8 - July 11th

The third race day of the season was held on Sun, July 11th at the 3 Flags Motorsport track just south of Lumsden.

Sunday was a great race day from a weather perspective, a bit cooler with tempertures in the 20's with a light wind, one of the most pleasant race days we have had this year.

Turn out was a bit lighter this race day so we ran 3 race classes with the Junior 1 Honda, Junior ROK and we combined ROK Pro and ROK Masters into one race class with separate qualifications for each group. 

The race went well with only 1 incident when Rod had a break failure on the back straight and took to the tires at the fence line.  Fortunately there was no serious injury.  The rest of the race day ran without indident.

The Junior 1 classes had 3 racers in all heats with Jayden and Michael challanging each other within the heats exchanging postions in heat 1 and 2.  Junior ROK showed some good competition between heats with a number of postion changes between Garett, Larisa and Colby.  James and Thomas continue to develop during this race season.  The ROK Pro class continue to be dominated by Darcy and Nick.  The two heats, with 4 racers , showed a consistent result for the race day.  The ROK Master actualy raced with the ROK Pro drivers so that added some additional passing practice for Pro class.  Sam lead both heats with Jeff and Dave swapping out second place between heats.  With 5 drivers, the masters was the largest class of the race day.
